If you're one of those people that says..."I've always wanted to learn to play the bagpipe!"...then you've come to the right place!
Locating an instructor can be challenging since most music stores or studios don't have a piper on staff and obtaining a referral can be difficult. Selecting the proper chanter and the best bagpipe is often arduous, frustrating and filled with disappointment as there aren't any "brick and mortar" stores in our area for you to visit. The whole process has remained a mystery...until now.
At The Bagpipe School it is our mission to provide you with a solid musical foundation, excellent instruction and world class consultation about how to purchase and maintain your instruments. In addition to learning the notes and the tunes, you will learn the proper technique for ryhthmic fingering, blowing a steady tone and consistently tuning your instrument. We are very focused on teaching you how musical the Great Highland Bagpipe can, and should, be played. Our dedication to our students goes far beyond a scheduled class.
We really are a school...our lessons are structured to provide instruction in a classroom setting. Within our small groups, we encourage unison play coupled with individual attention. Each class is designed for your progress and advancement to the next level. We have sessions available for 'day one' beginners as well as an experienced player looking to improve upon technique or performance skills. Our more advanced topics will change at each session...so visit our Studio often to see what we're up to! Private lessons can be arranged as our instructor calendars permit.
Although the instrument has evolved immensely over the past 30 years, it's ancient sounds still create a mystical and emotional experience for the audience....as well as the player.

Classes are held on the historic campus at St. John's Northwestern Military Academy, Delafield, WI . Centrally located in Southeastern Wisconsin, we're a half hour west of Milwaukee and 40 minutes east of Madison.
